About Me

- Name: Mayor's Action Center
- Location: Bayambang, Pangasinan, Philippines
Bayambang is located in Pangasinan, a province in northwestern Philippines. The town is bounded in the north by Malasiqui; in the south by Camiling, Tarlac; in the east by Bautista; and in the west, by Urbiztondo. Bayambang was named after a wild plant called “balangbang,” which grew verdantly on the hilly portions of the town. Some people say that the ancient origin of the name of our town may have also come from “culibangbang,“ the trees which grew in abundance on the town’s hillside. At about the end of the 18th century, an Aeta leader named Alagat organized his tribes into small villages called “barangays.” Originally, the town center was located in the barrio of Inirangan and then it was transferred to the barrio of Telbang, until finally, to its present location. The territorial expansion was so rapid and abrupt that the town extended to as far as Gerona, Tarlac. For sometime during the early days of its expansion, the towns now known as Alcala, Bautista, and Camiling were parts of Bayambang. Today, Bayambang is one of the biggest and fast growing towns of Pangasinan.
